Stop Alcohol Abuse Without AA

If you’ve got a hard time quitting drinking, this article is for you. This isn’t AA but sit down and read on to find out about the alcohol cure without using Alcoholics Anonymous.

Did you ask God to help you get your life straight? Do you think being in a group such as AA will help you quit? Do you think AA will help you quit alcoholism?

What you absolutely need is a little belief. You don’t need to trust in a higher power, but for some that could be beneficial. You, most important of all, need to believe in yourself. You can do it! Humans, like you and I, have the amazing capacity to achieve anything we put our minds to You just need to put your mind to accomplishing this task.

I’m sure you know that alcohol is bad for your body. Your human body will treat it as poison too. Most of all, you’ll damage your liver. There aren’t any vitamins or minerals in 100% of alcoholic drinks. You don’t need it. Toss that flask in the trash bin right now and dump your vodka down the drain, that’s all you need! If you really need the alcohol, it might be too hard for you to quit straight up like that and you should see a doctor first.

Always envision success. Remember what you are striving to achieve. You want to lose some pounds or just get back your bodily hygiene and stop having your bad breath. Forget about the alcohol.

So, that is the fact. Not too hard, eh? Really, in the end, that’s all there is to it. Just do it. In the end when you succeed, you’ll only have yourself to thank for and you’ll be really glad you took this challenge on.

The Meaning of Dragonfly In Spirituality

Dragonflies are ancient insects dating back over 180 million years old. In the USA alone there are over 650 species of dragonflies in the US alone. These amazing creatures have been a symbol of grace in teachings of Feng Shui, and a symbol in shamanism for transformation and seeing in a new light.

Dragonflies spend their first two years in the water as nymphs. Then they climb from the water and transform completely into winged insects with great agility and speed. Their agility in flight is similar to that of the hummingbird, another powerful totem spirit.

During its two year incubation cycle in the water the dragonfly sheds up to fifteen skins. The dragonfly also holds the qualities of the water, contributing to its grace. Water holds deep seated thoughts, emotions, and the yin quality of introspect.

The ability to transform from a creature of the water to a creature of the air ties the dragon fly to the evolutionary process we are able to create within our lives. Any transformation takes time, so be patient.

The eyes of a dragon fly give many perspectives, reminding us to look past the illusions we carry in life. The wings, though transparent, hold the luminous reflection of many colors, offering us a doorway into the many spectrums of energy we have in our spiritual realm.

The dragonfly can be utilized as a symbol for understanding an aspect of our evolutionary process in life. Taken as a whole our life is very transformational, seen or unseen. We can learn patience and faith that the steps we take will lead us in the right direction.

You can use the qualities of the dragonfly totem in your daily meditation. With the dragonfly we have that transformational quality, and we can transform thoughts and perceptions into understanding and growth. We can look beyond the illusions and stories for the greater world of clarity and connectivity with self.

Soul or Spirit: An Immeasurable Presence

The concept of the soul is richly described in the text of nearly every culture, present and past. Poets write of this mystical presence, the philosophical debate and discuss it. Does the soul exist, and if so is there any way to measure it?

There has been a distinction made between the spirit and the soul. In some beliefs the soul is the essence connected with the body personality. In this philosophy the spirit is a higher presence.

There is a practice is the shamanic world called soul retrieval. It is believed that in trauma the soul, or a portion of the soul, can become detached from the physical presence, perhaps as a means to protect the delicate being. This separation can lead to a feeling of detachment, sadness, and loss.

People of all walks of life turn to exploration of the soul, seeking enlightenment and evidence of a presence beyond the time bound physical. Is this focus to acquire spiritual knowledge, or to restore a part of their being that many cultures ignore?

The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge published The Penny Cyclopaedia in 1842. In this text the soul was describe as such: The soul is thyself; for thou knoest that which is different from soul and is perishable. But what is the soul? asked the king. The sage answered: He who dwells in the body, who heeds the body, and at whose departing the body suffers whilst he does not suffer, for uncertainty (such as the bodys) is not his – that is the soul. He delights in his beauty, he is immortal, fearless, and himself Creator.

The soul speaks loudly within the silence. We can turn within and bring focus to our own being. Immeasurable yes, but nothing in this world can deny us the presence of the soul.
